BPL Ration Card: The government has implemented new and strict rules for ration card holders across the country. These steps taken by the Ministry of Food Security aim to ensure that the benefits of the government ration scheme are given only to eligible families.
Necessary Rules To Take Advantage Of the Ration Scheme
If you are taking advantage of government rations, you must now follow the new rules set by the government. Violating the rules can cancel your ration card, and you may also be deprived of other government schemes.
The government’s Objective Is Transparency And Access To The Right Beneficiaries.
The government’s clear objective is that only those families that are economically weak and entitled to the ration scheme should receive benefits.
Many people took advantage of this scheme by giving wrong information, depriving needy families.
To stop this, new rules of the ration card have been implemented.
Mandatory Conditions As Per New Rules
As per the new guidelines issued by the government, it is now mandatory to follow the following things.
The ration card holder must have a Jan Dhan account.
It is necessary to link the mobile number with the bank account and the Aadhaar card.
The mobile number registered in the ration card must be current and active.
All house members must link their Aadhaar cards with their ration cards.
All the members must do an e-KYC.
If a member has moved out of the house after marriage or due to a job, his name must be removed from the ration card.
Why is e-KYC Necessary?
The government has made e-KYC mandatory for all ration card holders to ensure a transparent and error-free ration distribution system.
This will help identify those who have made fake ration cards.
Only the right and eligible beneficiaries will benefit from this scheme.
